Yvette and Family, I am so sorry to learn of Yolanda’s passing just now. I wasn’t aware and went looking for her on FB only to learn. I only knew her a couple of short years, but her outgoing and colorful personality was so impressive! We met at the Farmers Market where she advocated my wreaths and shares the name of my favorite, late Aunt Lana (short for Yolanda!). My true condolences to you all. The Rainbow Bridge gained an Angel from earth in heaven! I will miss her but am so grateful her struggle is over. RIP Friend. Respectfully, Kerri, also from ItsJustAHobby wreaths. ?

Yolanda had a huge presence in the rescue community that will go on for quite sometime as she influenced many of us. I enjoyed visiting with her and having lunch - usually planned around picking up or dropping off a dog. She encouraged me to start my own rescue and helped get several dogs into JOMDR, including a challenging boy who is now thriving. I know these success stories made her so happy. Her happy place was doing transports and helping match dogs and people. She was a feisty lady with a heart of gold. We became close over these last few years and I do feel like she was family. I will miss her every day!

I met Yolanda years ago when I started transporting rescued furbabies for MAMAS. She had a heart of gold and helped me numerous times. She was always there to help out or chit-chat while we waited for our pups to arrive. I know the Rainbow Bridge was howling to welcome her too! Fly high, Yolanda…I will never forget you. ❤️

Yolanda, you were the first person we met through dachshund rescue and it was through you that so many fine dogs came into our family. You will be missed terribly. But if, as they say, “all you can take with you is that which you’ve given away,” you take with you the joy and love and happy endings you brought so many. Fly high and free.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

The rescue world has lost a giant.. The DLC has lost our Yo. BUT... Goosman got his Mama back. I was so incredibly privilege to have met Yolanda online through the Doxie Lovers Club, then in person when she visited Georgia for her grandson's graduation at Fort Benning. We crossed paths again in Texas at a DLC meet up and again south of Atlanta at some rescue events. Steel encased in velvet. She was passionate, loving beyond belief to her Marines AND her weins! Until we meet again - enjoy the bridge- once the gang lets you cross! You have many to get some loving from! Rest in peace oh good and faithful servant - you will so be missed.

To the Family, my deepest condolences. I have some fond memories of "Yoyo". She was one of the first people I met at MCIA. At first, I thought she was a former Drill Instructor because of the way she demanded excellence and barked orders. Later, I was welcomed into her inner circle and found her to be one of the most loving and caring individuals who took great pride and passion from her role in helping the command and "her Marines". One of the best things I loved about working with Yo was that there was no bologna allowed when it came to the interpretation of the regulations. Travel has so many orders, regulations, forms and various nuanced items that the average person would mess something up almost every time. Yo would swoop in to the rescue. She was blunt, but you knew that if Yolanda said it, there was no denying that was the way it was. And the moment you thought she was mad at you, she would crack wise and make fun of you. I also connected with Yolanda over our love of dogs and every time I stopped by her desk, we would chat about them. You will be missed Yoyo. Rest now and forever play with your pups.
